Melissa McCue Bio

Melissa C. McCue, CPDT, got her dog training start at the wee age of 8, when her father took interest in dog-sledding. Before long, she spent her winters training and running with the 10-dog sledding team.

She attended Lake Erie College to pursue psychology, and earned her Bachelors of Science degree in 2003. In 2008, Melissa earned an international certification through the Council of Certified Pet Dog Trainers.

She and her Frisbee Dog, “Sadie” competed for 4 years in K9 Disc, and have been highlighted on Fox 25 morning news & NECN’s The Secret Life of Animals. She has trained other dogs (including a Springer Spaniel) to compete in the sport. She also lives with a Greyhound, who lives on the couch in happy retirement.

With City Dog, Melissa is excited to work in the community to “teach dog, to people”. Her ultimate goal to help people understand that dogs give up a lot to live in the human world, and that if all their needs are met, they can be happy, satisfied companions. It’s Melissa’s job to help each person find that specific balance for their dog.
